Rezmer - Fast cast Mesmer with monk secondary used for ressurecting (usually in Minion Master teams) Echo____ - Elementalist with mesmer secondary using Arcane Echo or Echo to repeat spells. Battery - Necromancer with energy regen skills to help monks and other casters regain their magic. Geartank - A warrior whos build centers around holding an item so that enemies are aggroed to them. It can be anything from torches, the scepter of orr, books, etc. Named after the gears in Sorrows Furnace, even though the technique has been used before SF came out. Additional information for "Cap": using a Signet of Capture to "capture" a skill from a dead boss (primarily an elite skill).

As for the useage of "y" it's always usually a substitute for "Why". I've never seen it used for "yes". Unless I can see it: Answer Y for yes or N for no. But then they'd have already elaborated, hence why I believe it's always for "Why" --The Shim |

c/o= current offer...
b/o =buying offer (what ill sell for right now) atm= at the moment.. Tank= standing in direct damage path ie " hey ele stop tanking" usually said by a monk whos dumped 40 ene trying to keep the dumb ele whos hanging out next to the warrior alive.. tank also means carrying a some stances and skills to prolong living via warrior skills. one I hear ever so often AC= aggro controller... ( the person who brings the fight to the monsters and keeps theyre attention) was popular in d2.. wtf= "what the FUNK!!" (edited for kiddies) usually following a mass dieing of half the party because leroy surfaced... |

Kudos to this list and all the helpful people who are adding to it. I just started GW so some of the terms specific to it were unfamiliar. This list has been big help.
What does the term "rust" mean? And I'll throw my 2 copper in support of the term "mob" to mean "mobile object". Too many years to count in MMO / MMORP games and that is what has meant the whole time. |

Ascending is part of the PvE storyline. It is achieved by leaving Kryta via Sanctum Cay mission, and completing the three main Co-op missions in the Crystal Desert. You end up fighting your Doppelganger one on one and you are ascended. There is nothing to really notice about being ascended unlike getting infused armour. A lot of people miss ascending by playing the game out of sequence by running to Droks from Beakons Perch. Btw, Has "Runner/ Running" been added to this list? I cant remember reading it. What about "Off-tank(ing)" - A warrior who changes enemy priority to take aggro off casters. |

also, under the definitions for "Cap" you listed to capture a banner in PvP, but failed to list PvE's popular use: to capture a skill or pet, i.e.- lfg cap grp - need to cap aotl - lfg to cap spider - etc. You may also want to include the term "Metagame" as it seems to be more and more widely used as more people drift towards serious competition. EDIT: Also, you probably will never see these suggestions as I just noticed this thread hasn't been active since the dawn of time and you are probably very old having lived a full and satisfying life by now. Great list anyway, I learned a few from it for sure. Last edited by Punches; Sep 03, 2006 at 08:18 AM // 08:18.. |

There's one up there that can mean two things, so gets slightly confusing at times. Especially in HA. (There's a new one for you too. HA = Heroes Ascent). AoE. Can mean Area of Effect, yet for AoE smite teams, it will mean Air of Enchantment. This one used to confuse me all the time.
